  4. Hi Karen. I am also a type 1. Keto works great for me. My blood sugars have never been better. You will need to pay attention to your insulin needs. When you go low carb you do need to start taking some insulin for protein. There are Facebook groups that can help. Diabetics transitioning to LCHF is one.
