In actuality, he isn’t totally wrong, but he isn’t totally right, either. As is typical of someone without a medical background, in particular an oncology background, he is, basically, putting the cart before the horse, as you will see.

    Some people feel best with breakfast and lunch, but no dinner, so if skipping breakfast doesn’t make you feel great, you can try skipping dinner instead. Remember that IF isn’t for everyone, so if you find yourself feeling worse instead of energized and clear headed, put this tactic to the side, since it isn’t a necessary part of a keto diet.

    Louella you are absolutely wrong. It’s actually funny to me that this dietitian talks about the keto diet to such an extent but neither you nor her ever mention Gluconeogenesis. Yes your brain has specific areas that can only use glucose, but the human body is a wonderful thing and can use a few different substrates to synthesize glucose without you ever having to eat it yourself. Look up Gluconeogenesis. Your body has the ability to convert the amino acids you find in protein into usable glucose for your brain. The fact that you don’t know this shows me how uneducated you are about the ketogenic diet in general. Perhaps you should read up on the subject before you start trying to sound like a scientist who clearly has no idea what she is talking about. Thanks.

    Later on, I learned that cycling carbs is widely recommended. By this time I was ready to quit. So when I ate carbs and felt so great, I took it as a sign to ditch keto.  (A misinterpreted sign? Perhaps, I don’t know.)
