  • I have never had cholesterol in my life, after a month of diet keto my total cholesterol is raised to 2.5, with normal level of triglycerides, I'm not fat at all I'm very athletic.
    So let's see next month for
    my blood test results.

  • Here is how I️ make my kale shake- 4 long stemmed organic kale leaves—mineral water to cover, about two cups—2 Tablespoons volcanic organic lemon juice—2 mall scoops of powdered Stevia.   • Dr Berg is the nutritional value the same (potency or amount of potassium) when consuming raw salads (romaine, spring mix) that don't have to be cooked in order to consume versus more powerful greens such as kale collards turn ups that do need to be cooked in order for digestion to work properly. My question is which should I be consuming more of raw salads or more cooked greens for the purpose of flushing out the fat from the liver.

  • Hi Dr. Berg, thanks for the great videos. Just tried to take your quiz on my phone and lost my progress half way through. If you are collecting email, you can easily add a password to that first section so people can auto save their progress and not lose what they've entered. Also formatting is tough on a phone.   • I am researching diet plans to determine what will be best for a lifestyle change. I need to lose weight as the excess weight aggravates some injuries from the army. But want something long term that can just become a way of life. Keto sounds viable but I also like the starch solution. Either one I would do with interrmittent fasting.   • My doctor sent me to a cholesterol clinic. After being patronised for an imaginary "unfortunate" diet, the word "statin" was mentioned…that was 8 months ago. They haven't heard of me since.

  • Makes sense . . . interesting how that goes — medical complicates it so the average person cannot understand; in fact, that, to me, is the goal of the FDA and the medical profession — confuse, make themselves the interpreter of all things . . . and make the patient . . . their unknowing victim as they pilfer them out of their money and their health.   • It's all about the ratio of LDL (small particle) and triglycerides. Your cholesterol can be 400 what REALLY matters is the small dense lipoprotein. The big fluffy VLDL is good unless it turns to LDL which is what happens with the SAD and carbs. bottom line is a good ldl ratio with a lower triglyceride is what it's all about. Lchf will accomplish this over time. If you have low density lipoproteins you're in trouble especially if you have a higher triglyceride. By the way this test is not done in the doctor's office it's a special test

  • I had 3 months of hair falling out in clumps during high cholesterol then plateaued, while the high cholesterol continued, the hair falling out continued yet no weight loss.

  • Hey Dr. Berg! I have been doing low carb for one year now and have lost 88 lbs so far. Had labs checked recently and my total cholesterol was 232, Tg 54, HDL 58, and LDL 164. These were WAY better than the last time they were checked. The only thing that reallybbothered me was that my fasting glucose was 99. I did drink some sugar free flavored water prior to testing but didn't eat anything. I've never been diabetic but have had issues with hypoglycemia as far back as I can remember. My A1C was 5.2% with an eAG of 103 (think that's right).

  • Yeah my cholesterol increased after 1 month of keto. I really got afraid and sad that this means keto is not for me, but after searching about it i was relieved & decided to continue. i haven't checked my triglycerides yet but planing to do next time
