Making Low Carb a Lifestyle: How I Do This

This video is about how I transitioned to a Low Carb High Fat or Ketogenic way of eating. The first three weeks are key!
Understanding the science, using affirmations to survive just one day at a time, and creating new habits with regards to cooking and eating were extremely important to my success.

  • I listen to you every day to inspire me! going on week 3, I find hard to think of foods for me and other food for husband. I don't seem to loose weight, I think inches! but will finish week 3 and see! What you think?

  • Hi Kristie,  I love your videos.  I am slowly unlearning all I have been taught about "healthy eating" and am losing weight without hunger and enjoying what I eat.  You are no failure, it is the health professionals both in the USA and the UK who are failing us.  They still recommend diabetics eat food that spikes their blood sugar!  When will they learn?   Looking forward to trying your pancakes.  God bless.

  • Thank You, Thank you, Thank you…..you just described my life, my son has lost a considerable amount of weight, on a Keto diet, I have tried it, but needed advice as to how to keep going and do it completely…I will be reading and watching and hoping and praying this works….you have given me new hope…….I also tried the shitake noodles, but they were not good,,,will try the Miricle noodles and will be checking out your food blog….bless your soul for sharing your story….I feel so hopeful!!!

  • Great information, I'm starting my journey again and I'm day two in, keep the info coming!!!

  • Dear Kristie, I have been watching your videos for a few weeks. I have a friend who lost 30 lbs on keto. I am 50 is lbs overweight, have rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia. So, exercise is painful! !!! Started keto woe, lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks. I feel hopefully and very importantly, I feel that it is manageable, sustainable and tasty! I do not like meat very much, and I am learning to overcome fat phobia. so, I am so touched by your lifestory/experience and feel so grateful that you share to inspire and support others, like me and others in a worse situation! !! Thanks for your generosity and loving kindness! May I say, you look so lovely! !!! Hugs and let us keto on and on! Many blessings.

  • I had VSG and high protein low carb has always worked for me…when I'm craving crunchy stuff I go for pork skin no carb soo glad they keep me on tract

  • Kristie you are amazing. I think you are very inspiring. I love the part about the bread and your visualization. You were changing the cues of your brain and reshaping your relationship with bread. Amazing. Thanks for sharing.

  • You are so cute! I just can't stop watching your videos. So real. So honest and so likeable! Your awesome! Please don't stop sharing with us. You are really encouraging me, as I am in the beginning of my journey.

  • You are the Paula Deen of YouTube! More butter!!! Seriously, you are such an amazing resource and are a delight and joy to listen to and watch. Food Network needs to grab you up and you need your own show. Thank you for being the keto test kitchen that I didn't have to be!

  • Hello. I've been watching your videos and I love all your cooking recipes. Have you moved your blog? I cannot find it. I am following you on pinterest, but when I click on a recipe in your tried and true file, it takes me to your blog, which is says is for sale. I hope you have just moved it somewhere else. Thank you for sharing!

  • Thank you so much for sharing your story and all your wonderful recipes! Listening to your describe your reaction to yeast rolls really hit home. I now so STRONGLY associate bread and pasta (wheat) with pain, it no longer really tempts me. Friends frequently suggest that I can cheat "just this once", that it's "not a big deal". There were days last year, before I went wheat free, that I was in so much pain I was in tears. Like you, I now love myself enough to let go of those foods that DON'T love me!

I like your description of the busy little insulin workers going around and making you fat… That's an awesome visual.

  • Thank you so much for this.

  • Thank you!

  • Thank you so much for explaining the science behind sugar and insulin, I have never heard it be explained that way, but it makes so much more sense now, as to why I am fat. Love your videos. And I will hop on over to your pinterest page.
