I Lost 120 lbs in 18 months! First half on a low carb diet, the other half on a plant based diet.

In an 18 months span I went from my heaviest of 295 lbs to my current weight of 175 lbs. This is my story of what I did to achieve this and tips one can use to do the same. My hope is that another person in the same situation finds this video and decides to be healthy as well. For being a fat guy my entire life I was able to get to a healthy weight relatively quickly.     I eat a plant based diet, mostly fruit, rice and potatoes. I came from a very strict atkins grass fed diet and it doesn't even compare. Energy levels are through the roof and I dropped body fat while eating 3000-5000 calories per day.

    This is what I plan on doing. I'm on the Atkins diet right now and when I reach my goal weight I plan on going vegan. At first I could never imagine not eating meat. But now I can't wait to reach my goal so I can go vegan. It's good to see someone did it with success. Thank you

  • If I can, any one can. I really think vegans and vegetarians should push Atkins because it made me want to try eating something else. (Well that and the wife but eating meat three times a day, everyday, helped a lot)

  • You should read about Dr Bernstein – he is a T1 diabetic and found thatthe only way to control his diabetes was on a low carb diet. He has been eating this way for over 50 years. He is now 81 years old and very fit and healthy. People really need to research more before making statements based on their opinion only.

  • Great video man, appreciate that you found what's right for you.I'm diabetic so I think low carb has to work for me long term, just keep the leafy greens up and vary your fat sources, nuts etc, I have been only eating once a day and feel great.Keto flu is mostly electrolyte imbalance so some salt or chicken stock helps a lot, and you feel awful.Happy for your sucess, people should check out Dr Jason Fung, he has some great videos on the role insulin plays in the extra weight people are carrying around.I'm glad you didnt shit can either way, getting sick of vegans with attitude!

  • Why do all the vegetarians/vegans stalk the keto diet vlogs? I eat a lot less meat on keto…probably more eggs and butter than the normal American diet, but meat? Not so much. In fact, I can't remember the last time a ate a puppy or kitten doing keto! 😱 😜
