  • You've offered GREAT advise, saying that people are more likely to stick to it if they've done the research on their own.  I have felt the absolute best, both mentally and physically, eating low carb.

  • The problems with some of the low carb diets is like what you said. People don't research and see what they should be eating. I used to work with a woman that did that atkins diet. She would eat lots of cheese and processed meats and things like that and stay away from most veggies since they have carbs in them. She would always gain more and more weight. She'd lose some weight for a little while and then gain it all back and then some. Any diet that says to eat lots of meat and not eat too many vegetables is not a smart diet. But as I said she ate mostly processed meats. All she watched was the carbs, not how unhealthy the food actually was. Just eat clean and your carbs come out pretty good automatically.

  • I eat a low carb diet. I find that simplicity for me is key. Periodically I will follow a cool recipe but day to day I think keeping it really basic is the best.

  • Solid advice, Mina! I began eating low carb last May and I lost 15 lbs so far. It's been a slow but steady loss. It was difficult at first but I stocked my fridge and pantry accordingly. It's effortless now. I'm so used to eating low carb that I feel bloated and uncomfortable when I over indulge in pasta, bread or sweets.
